Is the training suitable for me?
Find out in our short quiz!
Do you enjoy working with people?
I love working with people.
Working with people, both as part of a team and with guests, is an essential part of your role. If you find it easy to continually adapt to new situations and you love the challenge and variety which this brings, you are in the right place in the hospitality industry.
I'm not particularly outgoing, but I'm generally open-minded towards people.
Openness and a willingness to communicate are very important in our profession. However, no one expects you to be the sole entertainer - there are departments in the hotel with less guest contact such as the kitchen.
Oh Oh People - too many are just too much for me
If other people are just a drain on your nerves, a training course in a hotel is probably not for you. You would encounter far too many of them.
Teamwork is for me
Achieving more together.
A team provides space to be inspired by others' strengths, learn together, and have fun. TEAMWORK is highly emphasised at VELA as only together can we create a comprehensive fantastic guest experience.
If it's to be done well, one must do it oneself.
At VELA, there is a brilliant team that you can rely on and who are committed with all their heart and soul.
Just imagine if you had to clean the restaurant by yourself, decorate, set the table, calculate goods, store and process them, arrange, serve and then clean and wash up. In this way, everyone can do the work which they enjoy and are good at.
However, bringing in you and your ideas to help us continuously improve is also a large part of the work.
Great, someone else is doing it!
Amid colleagues full of passion and motivation, you won't get far with the attitude to let others do everything.
Only the guests put their feet up at VELA.
Shift work - Working while others celebrate?
I'll ensure the party is unforgettable!
I love giving others a lovely time and bringing them joy.
Brilliant! Finish up during the week when it's not too busy.
Shopping when the aisles are empty, flexibly scheduling private appointments during the week while others are working, and thus achieving goals faster.
Where was I on the night from Friday to Sunday? Certainly not working!
Only the select few departments of a hotel can genuinely do without shift work. If a traditional 9-5 job is what you're after, I'm afraid you won't find it with training in a hotel.
To be able to inspire / make people happy
Totally motivates me!
The guests entrust the success of their holiday, their celebration, or their lovely evening into our hands. That's a great privilege! Exceeding their expectations and creating unforgettable experiences for them is our goal. If you see it in the same way, we're greatly looking forward to you!
Out of school and already fulfilling expectations again!?
Imagine your dream holiday without all the pleasant staff in the hotels and restaurants. To surpass guests' expectations with passion and create unforgettable experiences is our ultimate goal. If you initially want to take it easy, that's understandable, but with training from us, it can't be achieved.
